Question: My gull bladder was removed in 1990. I woke up to a blood pack going in my vein. Just found out a month ago ?

I've go hep c type 2b I have not got insurance except medicaid .. I'm on a nervous disability.. Someone said my insurance won't pay for my treatments.
I'm not responsible for contacting hep c the hospital was right?
answer

There are other ways to contract Hepatitis C. You'd be hard-pressed to prove to a court that the transfusion was the source. Starting in 1990, blood used for transfusions was tested for Hep C, so you'd need to prove that the blood you received was not. The opposing attorney will challenge, with questions about your sexual partners and members of your household (two known means of transmission). Sharing a razor or using somebody's toothbrush can transmit it.

You'd want to check your case with a medical malpractice attorney.

Sweetheart, that's all the insurance u need when u have medicaid, because if u did have any other insurance instead of medicaid, then that's when medicaid wouldn't pay for u to be seen by the doctors. so whomever told u that shouldn't have told u, because what are u going to do if u just lay there and die, so before the matter gets 2 worst, please do urself a favor and start loving urself more and GO 2 THAT DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take Care
answer

Yes, medicaid will pay for treatment!! Even if it didn't you can get treatment through study trials, ask your doctor!!!!
As for the blood supply, our government will not accept responsability for any disease they have spread.
The hospital is not to blame either.

Regardless, having gallbladder disease is often found to be from having liver disease to begin with, so chances are you had hcv long before your surgery.

Many of us had our gallbladders removed prior to diagnosis.

There are millions of ways infectious blood can enter the bloodstream of an unsuspecting host.(victim).

I will also say this, as long as you've had a nervous disorder, thats probably how long you've had hcv infection.
