Question: Is it normal to have heart palpitations (over 100 bpm) with the flu? I have chills, throat and bronchial?

irritation, but no fever. I also have body aches. My heart is palpitating like crazy. Just wondering if this is the reaction to the virus.

Thanks!
answer

Yes, your body increases heart rate to compensate, and increase metabolic rates to fight what ever virus you have. 100 beats per min is not bad, You should go in if your heart rate exceeds 120 while at rest, or you start to feel chest pain with the palpitations.
