Question: I have a umbilical hernia, and need surgery and I am putting off surgery......?
I am putting it off because of the recovery. But I am wondering if I need the surgery because I am not in pain, it only bugs me once in a while. But I also don't want my belly button to look like it does, does anyone know if the belly button will go back to normal after the surgery? Also, has anyone had the surgery is it painful like what I am told?
You won't have an innie, if that is what you mean. You'll have a scar but it won't look bad unless you don't do what you are told to do. The pain isn't too bad, besides there are plenty of pain killers, you just can't lift stuff for a while.
As to the pain, my sweetheart says the drugs are really good they give you. He had his done and it got rid of a lot of bloating and pressure he never really realized was there until after it was done. It's better to have it done before it goes too far, and do what the doctor tells you to do afterward.
